WWE SmackDown Live Results – February 14 2016

What a week it’s been in WWE! Elimination Chamber happened on Sunday night and crowned two new Champions, then last night’s Raw crowned another new Champion in Bayley and saw the world’s greatest friendship shatter. It’s been a rollercoaster.

Bray Wyatt finally became the WWE Champion. Wyatt overcame five other competitors inside Elimination Chamber in order to walk out as the Champion, pinning John Cena and AJ Styles in the process. That was quite a statement from WWE, suggesting the company is finally all-in on Wyatt. Tonight Bray faces Cena, who has the potential to become a record-breaking 17-time World Champion. Should Bray retain his title, that puts him on a collision course with his own disciple: Randy Orton. The Viper won the Royal Rumble to become part of the main event of WrestleMania and now he looks set to face Bray in a huge showdown. How will this work? Will Randy finally turn on Bray? Or can the two simply shake hands and let the better man win? That is, assuming Cena doesn’t win the title back tonight.

Speaking of Cena, there was two hints of foreshadowing at Elimination Chamber to suggest where he is headed next. First, Nikki Bella accidentally knocked Maryse over while brawling with Natalya backstage. Second, Cena pinned and eliminated The Miz inside the Chamber. Rumours as of late has John Cena teaming with Nikki Bella to face The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania and, while this is not an ideal match for anyone involved, it seems like it is indeed the route WWE is headed. In the meantime however, it seems like we will have a few more weeks to trudge through the absolute bore that is Nikki Vs Natalya.

Naomi also won gold at Elimination Chamber, besting Alexa Bliss to finally become Women’s Champion. It’s been a long journey from NXT, to Funkadactyl, to Women’s Champion, but Naomi finally won the title and looks set to carry it into her hometown of Orlando for WrestleMania! Who will she face though? Alexa Bliss is due a rematch but that could take place anytime between now and April. Becky Lycnh beat Mickie James at Elimination Chamber, so surely she is high on the list but the roll-up finish suggests that feud isn’t over yet. As of now, a Fatal 4-Way seems the best option for the Women’s Championship, but word on the street has that stipulation pencilled in for Raw’s ladies.

Elsewhere, American Alpha retained their Tag Team titles in a fun Tag Team Turmoil match. The lay-out of that match suggests an upcoming feud with The Uso’s, which could be a potential show-stealer at WrestleMania. Dolph Ziggler lost to Apollo Crews and Kalisto in a fairly forgettable match on Sunday. Where does Ziggler go from here? It doesn’t feel like anyone received any momentum from that match, so it’s unclear where any of the competitors goes next. And of course that leaves Baron Corbin, Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles and Luke Harper. Corbin obliterated Ambrose at Elimination Chamber, so those two will clearly have some bad blood to settle. As for AJ and Harper, neither man has seemingly any plans moving forward, which is especially alarming for The Phenomenal One.

That’s the rundown for tonight’s show. Who walks out of SmackDown Live as WWE Champion? Let us know in the comments, download the Ringside News app, follow me on Twitter, and enjoy the show!
