Monday Night Raw Results – January 9 2017

Welcome all to another edition of Monday Night Raw! Tonight’s show from New Orleans is sure to be a blockbuster one as it features the returns of both The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.

Now, Michaels is probably only back to promote his upcoming WWE Studio’s movie, and maybe a little for the Rumble too. The Deadman on the other hand, we don’t what his plan is for tonight. The Undertaker is a SmackDown man but I don’t think anyone on Raw will stop to tell him he can’t cross the streams. Furthermore, this marks the first time Undertaker has been in New Orleans since his iconic streak ended at the hands of Brock Lesnar almost 3 years ago. What has The Deadman got up his sleeve this time?

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Roman Reigns (again) defends his US Championship, this time against both Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. At this point, I think it’s fair to say this feud has been a bit of a dud and we’re tired of seeing these three, and Rollins, compete against each other every single week. I’d like to say that this is the night that Reigns will lost his title to JeriKO, which could at least make the title more meaningful or entertaining, but alas, Roman looks like he is on the old WWE booking rocketship once again. It’s becoming a WrestleMania tradition to book Roman strong and have him main event, then throw him back down the pile.

Anyways, Roman’s probable ‘Mania opponent, Braun Strowman is free of his rage surrounding Sami Zayn, so where will the big man turn his attention in the lead-up to the Rumble? Last week he was Speared by Goldberg and Reigns in the main event, so I’m going to say he isn’t happy with either man.

Bayley and Sasha Banks joined forces last week to upset Charlotte and Nia Jax, so I predict a tag team feud for the coming weeks. WWE.com is teasing Big Cass looking for a new tag partner tonight as Enzo is still in a wheelchair – though reports suggest Enzo is dealing with a real-life knee injury. Neville continues to convincingly dismantle every cruiserweight competitor there is, so how long can WWE keep it going before he gets a title shot? And it seems as though The Club are in line for title shots against Sheamus and Cesaro, since Anderson pinned Cesaro last week.

All that and more to look forward to on tonight’s show. What do you think Undertaker is here to say tonight? Will he announce that he too is in the Rumble match? Let us know in the comments and get ready for the show!
