The show opened with a video package that once again included Rich Swann talking about the death of his parents and how wrestling changed his life. It also included footage of him defeating Brian Kendrick to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship from last week and dedicating the win to his late mother… The 205 Live opening aired…

The broadcast team was Mauro Ranallo, Corey Graves, and Austin Aries. Graves said Aries did such a good job last week that he invited him back again. Aries played on rumors by telling Ranallo that he won’t do too good of a job because he knows his contract situation is up in the air…

Noam Dar vs. Cedric Alexander
Code of the Cruiserweights adhered to as the bell sounds. Chain wrestling early. Dar works over Cedric’s arm. Cedric comes back with a backflip headscissors and a dropkick that sends Dar outside. Cedric sets to dive, Dar ducks, but Cedric with a baseball slide. Back in, Dar hot-shots Cedric across the top rope and hits an arm whip. Dar goes back to work on Cedric’s arm. Cedric fights back, but Dar with a leg kick for 2. Keylock applied. Dar with a headbutt to the chest and an uppercut for 2. Dar works over Cedric in the corner. Cedric fights back, but Dar continues to wear down his arm. Cedric goes for a Sunset Flip, but Dar counters with another shot to the arm for 2. Dar drives the arm across his own shoulder, but Cedric with a big right hand. Cedric with two running forearms, a spinning back elbow and a corner submarine attack. Enziguri from the apron, followed by a springboard crossbody by Cedric for 2. Cedric tries to lift up Dar, but can’t because of his injured arm. Inside cradle by Dar for 2. Cedric goes for a back handspring, but Dar counters with a kick for 2. Fujiwara Armbar applied, but Cedric counters with a roll-up for 2. Dar avoids a split-legged moonsault and sends Cedric shoulder-first into the ringpost. Supernova Kick by Dar gets the win.

Dar is interviewed after and cuts a cocky heel promo, saying he’s 23, he just signed a big money contract and he wants to dedicate his victory, a very special lady, Cedric Alexander’s girlfriend, Alicia Fox. Dar walks off while Cedric is left fuming outside.

Video package spotlights Mustafa Ali, talking about how he was booed instantly during the Cruiserweight Classic and how he is great at many styles of wrestling.

Backstage, TJ Perkins wishes luck to new Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann, saying Swann has been lucky lately, including beating him last night on RAW. But he did win the Cruiserweight Title from Brian Kendrick and he’ll just leave it at that.

Jack Gallagher vs. Ariya Daivari
Gallagher had his left knee wrapped to sell Daivari’s attack on Raw. Daivari had a big smile on his face as he offered his hand, which Gallagher accepted. Daivari dominated the beginning of the match and targeted the bad knee. Daivari removed the wrap and slammed the bad knee into the post.

Gallagher came back with forearms and an uppercut briefly, but Daivari clipped his knee again. Gallagher caught Daviari with a headbutt and covered him for a two count. Daivari came back with a rolling elbow and then kicked the bad knee. Daivari performed a frogsplash and scored the pin…

Ariya Daivari defeated Jack Gallagher in 6:25.

A Lince Dorado video package aired and concluded with a graphic that said he will be coming soon to 205 Live…

TJ Perkins comes out to join commentary for the main event.

Brian Kendrick is walking backstage and is interviewed before he heads to the ring. Kendrick says the stress of being the face of the Cruiserweight Division got to him last week in his title loss to Rich Swann, but tonight will be different and I will earn my title back. Now, Rich Swann is a good wrestler and an even better human being, but at the end of the day, I will win my title back.

Main Event in a Return Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Title: Rich Swann (c) vs. Brian Kendrick

Good reaction for the champ. Perkins and Aries with a mini-feud on commentary as the match gets started. They are feeling each other out with counter after counter. Showing their scouting, they each miss signature moves to gain the upper hand. Kendrick takes a short breather but is able to goad Swann to the outside. Kendrick hits Sliced Bread off the barricade on the outside. Hooks both legs once back in the ring but only a two. Kendrick wrenches on the neck with cross faces and forearms. German suplex from Kendrick into the Captain’s Hook but Swann makes the ropes. Swann goes for a kick but misses most of it. Kendrick crashes to the outside nonetheless. Swann hits a modified Phoenix Splash from the turnbuckle to the outside. Back in the ring now, Swann hits a Tiger Bomb, goes for a cover and Kendrick out at two. Swann hits a big right and nails a driver of sorts that even Mauro Ranallo couldn’t call. Swann swings and misses on a kick but lands the second. They trade huge kicks and both men are down. Crowd finally showing their appreciation.

Both men standing in the middle of the ring trading rights. Kendrick goes for the Captain’s Hook once again, but Swann able to block. Swann reverses out but Kendrick transitions into it again. Swann gets to within a finger’s length of the rope and Kendrick slides him back to the center. Swann tries to reverse to a cover, but Kendrick rolls back over into the submission. After a long battle, Swann makes the ropes. Kendrick utilizing the referee’s break-up count to heelish perfection. Both men on the apron. Kendrick lands a boot to the face of Swann. Swann blocks Sliced Bread and sends the challenger into the ring post. Swann gets near decapitated, but Kendrick realizes he has to get Swann back in the ring to get the title back. Kendrick gets sent into TJP and they have a standoff. Gives Swann enough time to setup the “Swann Song” kick to retain his Cruiserweight Title.

After the match, Kendrick flies over the announce table to attack Perkins. Swann hurries back down to help out his friend, but is short lived after Perkins misses Kendrick with a super kick and hits Swann instead. Kendrick gloats and the others recovers as we head off the air.
